Tulsa, OK - Golden Gas Service Company has submitted its Class I salt water disposal well application to the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) to advance the development of its Joy Station natural gas storage project in Kiowa County, Kansas.

The application covers two critical injection wells that will support solution mining operations to form its high-deliverability natural gas storage caverns. The resulting brine will be injected into the approved disposal wells.

Golden Gas has partnered with Strata, a best-in-class geology, subsurface, and regulatory firm with a strong track record of successful disposal well and salt cavern development in Kansas. The filing marks a key milestone for the Joy Station project, which is poised to become a premier intrastate storage facility serving utilities, power generators, and gas marketers across the region.
